Integrated Development Environment in Web Page Development

Keywords: Integrated Development Environment Performance Technical Characteristics Web Page Development Web Programming.

IDE is a useful tool in web page development. The main problem of this study was. to compare the three Integrated Development Environments used in Web Page Development. Specifically, to answer the following problems: (1)What is the level of performance of the technical characteristics of Rapid PHP and Dreamweaver in terms of development time, human computer interaction, testing time and accessibility? (2) Is there a significant difference in the level of performance of the two IDES? The researchers used the descriptive method of research to gather data to answer the problems of the study. The target respondents were those instructors of the College of Computer Science who are familiar with the two environments. The researchers used survey questionnaire as the instrument in gathering information needed for the study. The gathered data from the administered questionnaire were interpreted using the Paired Sample T-Test to determine the level of performance of the technical characteristics of the two IDES. The researchers determined the difference between the level of performance of the technical characteristics of Rapid PHP and Dreamweaver. According to the result, Rapid PHP got the grand weighted mean of 4.29 while Dreamweaver has the highest grand weighted mean of 4.50. The researchers compared the two environments and found out that Dreamweaver is more appropriate to use in web development.
