With the advancement of technology, smart phones today have immense capabilities to provide rich user experience with interactive facilities. This study aims to address common everyday concerns that many of commuters have experienced in riding public transportation, particularly buses. Specifically, the study aims to determine the functional and non-functional requirements, through an interview guided by a questionnaire; to design and develop a payment and route assistant mobile application for Public Utility Buses by using a Mobile Application Developmental Life Cycle; and lastly, to determine the level of usability by utilizing the System Usability Scale (SUS). The researchers used the descriptive and developmental methods of research for them to accomplish the stated objectives of this study. The developed mobile application have features such as GPS(Global Positioning System) for tracking the location of the bus, Google Map is used for navigation and display services, and payment guide to help commuters. The mobile application was found to be beneficial and useful by the end users.
