Digital Archiving System for the College of Computer Science

Keywords: Digital Archiving System Non-functional Requirements Functional Requirements Usability Level of usability

The study aimed to develop a Digital Archiving System for the College of Computer Science. Specifically, it sought to attain the following objectives: to determine the functional and non-functional requirements of the developed Digital Archiving System; to construct the developed Digital Archiving System; and to determine the level of usability of the proposed system. The researchers used descriptive and developmental research methods wherein interview and survey questionnaire were used to identify the answers to the objectives. The faculty members and staff are the respondents of the study. RAD Model was utilized with PHP, HTML, MySQL, XampServer, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheet and Bootstrap as system development tools. The findings of the study are: the system has its functional and non-functional requirements such as user account, security requirements, data manipulation, backup reports, printing records, search engine, scan documents and display list of records. The developed Digital Archiving System was developed through the use of the Rapid Application Model (RAD). The developed Digital Archiving System is functional and useful to augment the quality service offered by the College of Computer Science in managing their documents.
