Interactive Approach in Teaching and Learning of Mother Tongue Using Touch-Based Mobile Device

Students and teachers of Wenceslao Elementary School continue to learn and teach the Mother Tongue subject in the traditional manner. Thus, the researchers developed a mobile application that help the students for easier and effective learning. This study has the following objectives: (1) To determine the selected lesson that can be implemented in touch-based approach; (2) To develop the Interactive approach in Teaching and Learning of Mother Tongue using Touch-Based Mobile Device for Grade 1 pupils; and (3) To determine the effectiveness of the developed application in teaching the mother tongue. Developmental and experimental research was used. The application was developed based on their module for March 2022. The researchers found that Interactive Approach in Teaching and Learning native language using touch-based mobile devices proven effective. The performance of experimental group with T-value 9.74107 and average scores 4.271 was higher than the control group who have T-value 1.701 and average scores 2.986.
